"BookiILL Fest" award ceremony and opening of the exhibition of selected and awarded illustrations, and opening of the exhibition from "Bibiana" Bratislava were held on 25th May 2019 at the Gallery of the Banat Cultural Center in Novo Miloševo (Serbia).


Pavel Babka, Tijana Knežević, Aleksa Jovanović, Ana Petrović, Slobodan Ivkov, Peter Tvrdonj, Mihal Hrušik, Anamarija Vartabedijan and Senka Vlahović.

Awards and special prizes were personally received by Aleksa Jovanovic, Anamarija Vartabedijan, Ana Petrovic and Tijana Knezevic (Pavel Babka received the award on behalf of Miroslav Hrasak). Other winners are Stefan Georgescu (Romania), Victoria Fomina (Russia), Milena Vasojević, Jefimija Kocić, Kristof Devos (Belgium), Alekos (Alexis Forero), (Colombia).



Slobodan Ivkov, president of the jury awarded the awards and opened the exhibition of "BookILL fest". Senka Vlahovic, the founder and director of BookILL fest, spoke about the festival.

About "Bibiana" from Bratislava were spoken by its director Peter Tvrdon and Pavel Babka, director of the "Babka" Gallery from Kovačica. Michal Hrušik, 3rd Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovakia in Serbia, opened the exhibition "Bibiane" from Bratislava.


Radovan Vlahovic, director of the Banat Cultural Center, greeted the guests as hosts and organizers. Sasa Maksimovic, president of Novi Becej Municipality, greeted the guests and welcomed them.



Both "BookiILL Fest" and "Bibiana" exhibitions will be available to visitors of the Gallery of the Banat Cultural Center in Novo Miloševo until 16th June 2019.

Book Illustration Festival "BookILL Fest" is held for the eighth time organized by the Banat Cultural Center and the Novi Sad Fair. The first part of the festival program was held in March this year at the International Book Fair in Novi Sad, while the second part is held in Novo Miloševo. The program of The 8th Book Illustration Festival "BookILL Fest", which is being held in Novo Miloševo, was co-financed by the Municipality of Novi Bečej.



"BookILL Fest" exhibition and awards


"BookILL Fest" exhibition contains selected and awarded illustrations based on an international competition. About 1700 illustrations from 27 countries of the world, including Serbia, arrived at the online illustration contest of the Book Illustration Festival BookILL Fest. The jury composed of Slobodan Ivkov (president), Sibila Petenji Arbutina and Senka Vlahović selected the illustrations by 120 authors for the exhibition and awarded authors from five countries.

Exhibition from „Bibiana” Bratislava

Exhibition of illustrations Serbian Illustrators at the Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava 2003–2017 is a guest exhibition of the Festival and it is organized by the Banat Cultural Center and Novi Sad Fair, in cooperation with Bibiana, International House of Art for Children from Bratislava (Slovakia), and Foundation Babka Gallery from Kovačica (Serbia). The exhibition contains illustrations of 19 Serbian illustrators whose works were featured at the Biennale in Bratislava in the period from 2003 to 2017, according to the selection of the Biennale Secretariat.
